The Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) organization is offering several scholarships aimed at supporting the academic and professional development of its members, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
MANRRS39 Gold Scholarship
MANRRS39 Gold Scholarship, sponsored by American Farmland Trust, AGCO, Dairy Farmers of America, TEGMA, and Zinpro. This scholarship is available to 40 MANRRS students, providing them with a $500 award and financial support to attend the 39th Annual National Conference and Career Expo, which will take place from April 2 to 6, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee.
The scholarship covers a shared hotel room for three nights, waives conference registration fees, and offers numerous professional development opportunities. Recipients will gain valuable skills and knowledge applicable to their careers and chapter activities, network with other MANRRS members from across the country, and participate in an exclusive reception with scholarship sponsors.
To be eligible, applicants must be active MANRRS members who have not received another 2024-25 MANRRS scholarship that includes financial support for attending MANRRS39.
Animal Health and Care Academy
Another scholarship program, the Animal Health and Care Academy, is designed to expose students to careers in the animal health and welfare industry. This program offers personalized mentorship, networking opportunities with industry professionals, and professional development tailored to non-veterinary animal health careers.
Participants will gain knowledge and technical skills to enhance their competitiveness in the animal health industry, and they will receive a certificate of completion certified by partner organizations. Additionally, participants will have access to internships and job opportunities with participating companies. To qualify, applicants must be active MANRRS members with sophomore standing or higher, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8, and be able to participate in the program’s events.
The application deadline for this program is November 11, 2024.
AGCO Agriculture Foundation Scholarship
The AGCO Agriculture Foundation Scholarship is another opportunity available to MANRRS members enrolled in programs related to Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Engineering, Data Science, IT and Software Development, Environmental Management, and Sustainability-related disciplines.
This scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate strong academic performance, motivation, and active involvement in their MANRRS chapter. Applicants must submit a cover letter outlining their motivation for applying, any financial constraints that affect their academic performance, their involvement in MANRRS, and their community or social engagement.
A curriculum vitae and an academic transcript with a minimum GPA of 2.8 are also required. Undergraduate recipients of this scholarship will receive $1,500, while graduate recipients will receive $2,500.
